Applications for the 2012 Pride Foundation Scholarship are due on Tuesday, January 31, 2012 at 5:00 PM PST (that’s 4:00 PM Alaska time). The holiday break is a perfect time to request recommendations and transcripts — and if you need help with your application, take advantage of drop-in night on Jan. 19 in both Anchorage and Fairbanks.

Pride FoundationPride Foundation and The Greater Seattle Business Association (GSBA) award scholarships to build leadership and promote diversity in the lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, and straight-ally communities. Scholarships may be used for any post-secondary education including nontraditional degrees, trade or technical programs, community colleges, four-year public and private universities, and accredited certificate programs. Students are eligible to receive more than one scholarship. Apply and get complete information at the Pride Foundation Scholarship Application page.

Do you need an objective eye to review your scholarship essays or other application materials? Pride Foundation volunteers will be on hand in both Anchorage (at the GLCCA) and Fairbanks (at UAF’s Rasmuson Library) on Thursday, January 19 to answer questions, look over essays, talk about the various scholarships, or otherwise offer assistance and advice.  You’re strongly encouraged to start your application before the meeting.
