Another occasion of Pride at Anchorage 4th of July parade

ICOAA in the July 4 paradeThe ICOAA would like to invite everyone to walk in the 4th of July Parade in Downtown Anchorage. Please bring any banners or logos you might have and invite anyone who is part of or supports the GLBTQ community.

Staging times: All motorized entries and floats must be staged by 9:30a.m. Walking entries must be staged by 10:00am. Please be sure your group is pointed in the correct direction, as indicated by the black arrows next to your staging numbers on the map. Space 42, look for Mariquita or Jovy. People will be there to direct you to the right location in case you are lost. THERE IS NO PARKING IN THE STAGING AREAS!

Parade route: The parade route begins at 9th Ave. & K St. It will progress west on 9th Ave, turn south on P St. (left), east on 10th Ave. (left), north on E St., then a final turn back onto 9th Ave. and returns to K St. Please disburse to the furthest staging area to allow following groups to follow you in.

A few rules:

  • No throwing or distributing of favors or handouts!
  • No advocating, opposing or depicting of any political, religious, or social issues.
  • No spraying of water or other liquids from units.
  • No persons or articles hanging over the sides of floats or vehicles.
  • No alcoholic beverages or controlled substances.

The Fourth of July parade is another chance to show your pride. Be Seen, Be Heard!

  • Date/time: Wednesday, July 4. 9:30 AM staging; parade begins ~10.00 AM
  • Location: Begins W. 9th Ave. & K St, Anchorage (see map)
