Identity booth at the Downtown Market and Festival

Identity will have a booth at the Anchorage Downtown Market and Festival. PrideFest t-shirts, rainbow merchandise, raffle tickets, and PrideFest information will be available.

Annual LGBT Pride Memorial Service

Remember those who came before us, and those lost to us through homophobia, transphobia, and suicide.

Buy some homemade lemonade and help raise money for Alaska Pride!

ICOAA Pride Float Building Party

Join the Anchorage Ducal Court in a weekend of creating, building, and yes lots of fun this Saturday!! We need hands to build our float for Pride’s Parade and lots of creative minds!! We just might even do a barbecue if that convinces you to come on down!! Help out the ICOAA and the Ducal Court it just might be a disco party!!

Please if you have any power tools or hands tools, bring those along with you. We are limited on tools and the extra would be great!! Can’t wait to see everyone!

Gay Day at the Alaska Zoo

Come enjoy a fun and family-friendly day at the zoo, including special tours. All ages.
Kick off your Pride in a fun, safe and family friendly way! On Saturday June 2nd, Heather Doncaster will be leading behind the scenes tours of the Alaska Zoo. The tours will be a special discovery tour for the whole family, guided by Heather Doncaster with two stops behind the scenes: one at the Polar Bear Exhibit, and one with the Tigers. Guests will learn all about the animals at the zoo and will learn extra information about each species in general.

There will two tours. 2pm and 4pm. Meet Heather at the admissions gate at those times.

Alaska Zoo, T-Shirt Workshop & BBQ in Palmer with UAA’s The Family

UAA’s The Family will meet at Gay Day Alaska Zoo (beginning 2:00 PM) and afterwards at 5:00 PM will head out to Palmer. There, at a member’s house, they’ll have a BBQ and will finish decorating t-shirts made at last week’s “Tie-Dye for Pride” event, as well as doing some more tie-dying. Bringing food and drinks is definitely welcome and greatly appreciated. There may also be board games, N64, and karaoke.

• Location: Meeting at Alaska Zoo, 4731 O’Malley Road, Anchorage (see map), then traveling out together as a group to Palmer

ICOAA 2012-13 MGA Pageant

The titles of Mr./Miss/Ms./Mister Gay Alaska are selected by Official Pageant Rules. Approved candidates will be judged on the following categories with corresponding points:

• Introductions in Street Attire (10 points)
• Swimwear (5 points)
• Talent (20 points)
• Formal Attire (15 points)
• Interview during Formal Attire (50 points)

Candidate applications were due at ICOAA’s annual Memorial Day picnic. Winning titleholders will serve for a year — your next chance to apply.
