Monday, 22 May 2006: A bus day, with lots of walking
Today is I think a lesson in how just little adjustments can lead to some big gains. I started out the day a little short in my dancing because of shortness of time — 24 minutes (= 3,144 steps), & then walked up to the bus stop. But today was my short day (we’re doing summer flex hours here); when I left at 11:00, instead of catching the bus near my office in SSB, I walked across campus to the stop at Lake Otis & Providence, a good 15-minutes walk. And on the other end, I got off the bus two stops early to add yet a few more steps. Very warm day! Spent the afternoon at Kaladi Brothers at Title Wave, where my partner joined me, & then we the same walking route home that I’d taken last Monday, which doubles the steps of our more direct route. By the time I got home, I was at 10,525 steps! Add that to the dancing, & I’m not far from going 5,000 over baseline.
Going 5,000 over baseline hadn’t been my goal for this week, but now it is.
Day total: 13,669 steps (4,686 over baseline; 314 under goal).
